HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

As a CDL B Driver under the general supervision of the Logistics Specialist, you will deliver and unload completed trucks, chassis, and parts to dealerships as well as other Dejana locations. You will also be responsible for minor truck and trailer maintenance. Deliveries are made within the North East Region of the US. You will be able to accomplish this by:

• Effectively using maps and directions to ensure most economical use of time and equipment
• Accurately maintaining daily driver log book
• Performing pre-check and post check inspections of vehicles as minor maintenance
• Having good communication skills(written and verbal) and the ability to follow instructions
• Maintaining a clean driving record with a high level of safety awareness on the roadways
• Properly assessing site locations in advance of truck delivery/pickup to ensure adequate access for safe operations
• Performing all responsibilities and duties during inclement weather within safe operating standards
• Performing other duties as assigned

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS

• Ability to read and speak English as required by federal regulations.
• Familiarity with manual logbooks.
• Team-player with a strong work ethic; courteous, flexible, punctual and professional.
• Level-headed, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.

Certifications:

• Valid and clean CDL Class A or B with no Air Brake Restriction.
• Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This position is primarily performed in a commercial vehicle while traveling to and from customer and company locations. The driver will be responsible for operating vehicles safely and efficiently in accordance with applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
• The position requires frequent sitting while driving, as well as regular standing, walking, climbing on and off equipment, and loading and unloading materials. Employees must be able to safely lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
• Work is performed year-round and may involve exposure to a variety of weather conditions and temperatures. Duties are conducted both on the road and outdoors and require the ability to work safely in changing environmental conditions.
